As a young adult he enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping and scouting with his sons. He worked part time in a bowling alley to earn extra income and as a result could bowl just about whenever he wanted. This was during the days when the bowling pins had to be set up manually. He was paid ten centers per line to set up pins when her first started.

He was a Boy Scout leader for his oldest son’s troop and enjoyed camping, hiking and helping the boys earn their merit badges.

During his years as a Mac Tools Distributor in Seattle, Washington, he purchased a camper the his pick up and a 19 ½ foot boat (replaced 5 years later with a 22 ½ foot boat) and spent many hours on the Puget Sound waters fishing and boating. His wife and him became avid salmon fishermen and absolutely love their time spent with their family and friends on the water.
